This initiative is supported by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) in the US Department of Education.

General Information

The Division of the Social Sciences was awarded a grant from the Institute of Education Sciences to conduct a pre-doctoral fellowship in Educational Research at the University of Chicago. Pre-doctoral training will focus on methods for education research, including statistical methods, measurement methods, and evaluation. This fellowship will train two types of scholars. 1) Scholars who skillfully apply state-of-the-art statistical methods that address pressing questions about the conditions and practices of US education and 2) Scholars who create new methods in response to challenging methodical problems that emerge in the conduct of such educational research. Candidates must be United States citizens or permanent residents, enrolled in the first or second year of a PhD program in the Division of Social Sciences, the Harris School of Public Policy Studies, or the School of Social Service Administration.
